Message Board Post:
Dear DeLana Lee,
I have just started my family history “quest” and I have found your name on some old
postings on the Carver surname message board. However, I see that you have these more
recent posts 05 Jun 2004 re: James Thomas Carver and William Henry Carver. You indicated
you are a descendent of Chaney M. M. R. Carver. I’m sure you know Chaney was the sister
to Mary Serina Carver, who is my great-grandmother, and she later married my
great-grandfather Charles Franklin “Frank” Colton.
I am willing to share any information and documentation I have that you are interested in.
Or just to hear from family, for that matter. I don't have a lot for James or
William as of yet, but I can let you know whenever I come across anything that pertains to
them. If you have Excel I can send you my notes in an e-mail attachment. Are you
interested in exchanging information? Do you have much luck using these Message Boards?
I live in Kansas City, MO and my wife has relatives in Pleasanton, Kansas that we visit
every year. I plan on photographing the headstones of Mary Serina and Charles Franklin
Colton this holiday weekend, if weather & children permit. I don’t know if Chaney is
buried next to Frank, but I will be taking a look to see. I also hope to visit the Linn
County Museum in Pleasanton this spring to see what they might have on the Linn County
Carver & Colton families.
Hoping to hear from you,
Roderick Becker
