Aside from that one name, who are you looking for and what is the date and location of
birth and the names of the parents?
Who are these people connected to and where did they live?
I have the .pdf files of Clifford Nickels Carver's book on the descendants of Robert
Carver. I could look up anyone in the index to see if there is a match to who you're
looking for (but I didn't see your George Allan Carver when I checked).
Robert Carver was my ancestor and I have a great many of the people in C N Carver's
book in my database.
There were two Carvers, father and son, who went to Canada because they are mentioned on
the Massachusetts Banishment Act of 1778; the son came back to the US quickly because he
married not long after the banishment, lived in Connecticut and had a large family. The
other brother/son went to Vinalhaven and that's the one who's my ancestor, as well
as the one who stayed in Canada until he died (I obtained a copy of his will and two deeds
where he's mentioned).
Are you aware of a different line of Carvers, no relation, who settled in Pennsylvania?
They're from somewhere in southern England.
There's a line of Carvers someplace else that started out as a Garver spelling (think
they might be from Georgia).
There was a Richard Carver, no relation, who was in New England very early, but he had two
daughters, no sons, so that Carver line daughtered out quickly. (IIRC, Richard, his wife
and daughters were part of the "Great Migration," aka Winthrop Fleet who were
the Massachusetts Bay Colony? I used to know a long time ago, but have forgotten.}
Since Carver is an occupation name, unrelated Carvers from different parts of England
exist in different areas of the US.
If you're looking for a descendant of Robert Carver of Massachusetts, I can probably
help you..., but I need some clues to go on besides a name with no frame of reference...
like date and location of birth, parents' names, names of wife or offspring..., et
cetera.
If it's another Carver line, sorry. I can't help with those; I'm just aware
of some of the original places they lived because I've seen inquiries on this list,
but they are no relation to me so I have no info.
