Willsboro — Ella Carver, 99, of the West Road in Willsboro, died at Elizabethtown
Community Hospital on Thursday, June 8, 2000.
She was born in Willsboro on April 4, 1901, the daughter of Jeremiah and MaryEllen
(Cushing) Ryan.
She was a graduate of Willsboro High School, a graduate of the Plattsburgh Normal School
and taught grades one through eight in one-room schools in Brookfield, Deers Head and on
Willsboro Mountain.
She was a member of St. Philip’s Church in Willsboro and a 75-year charter member of the
Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Joan of Arc 867.
Mrs. Carver was a devoted mother to John W. Carver of Willsboro, Jerry R. and his wife,
Jean Carver, of Springfield, N.J., Patrick E. Carver of Plattsburgh, Reginald A. Carver of
Willsboro, MaryAnne and her husband, Justin Cardarelli, of Framingham, Mass. and Helen and
her husband, Jerome Unruh, of Odessa, Del.; and several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, who died April 5, 1989.
Calling hours will be held at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro on Sunday, June 11,
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Catholic Daughters will meet at the funeral home at 7:45
p.m. Sunday evening. Funeral services will be at St. Philip’s Church on Monday, June 12,
2000, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Willsboro.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Catholic Daughters or the
Willsboro Rescue Squad.
