Duane:
Thank you for your interest. My wife and I have visited Rocky River
Methodist Church, Chatham County, North Carolina, and the cemetery
many times. My later ancestors are buried at the Hickory Grove
Church Cemetery, Chatham County, North Carolina.
The names of the persons named Pearce and their wives that are
in the "Registering Pearce Name" are my direct ancestors.
I am the son of William Wade Pearce of Chatham County, North
Carolina and Anna Belle Diamond of Kingston, New York. They met
while William Wade Pearce was a soldier stationed at Camp Dix,
New Jersey, in World War I. They settled in New Castle, Penna.
My ancestor, Daniel Pearce, of Pawling, New York, married
his first cousin, Anstis Pearce, of Providence, Rhode Island. They
moved to Randolph County, North Carolina.
They had eight children:
(1). Ira Pearce, who died young.
(2). Mehitable Walker Pearce who married William Degge Wren, of
Randolph County, North Carolina.
(3). Benoni Pearce who married Abigail Gregory. They moved to
Wilbur, Gregg Township, Morgan County, Indiana.
(4). Paris Pearce who married Rachel Kivett, of Randolph County.
(5). Ruth Tweedy Pearce who married William Lynch. They moved
to Wilbur, Gregg Township, Morgan County, Indiana.
(6). Anstis Pearce who married William Carver. They moved to
Indiana, then later to Illinois.
(7). Abigail Dyer Pearce who married Abraham Owen. They moved
to Wilbur, Gregg Township, Morgan County, Indiana.
(8). Cornelia Frances Pearce who married Nicholas Dafford. They
moved to Indiana, then to Kansas.
I would appreciate any information you have on anyone in my Pearce
line or any of the above named persons.
Best regards,
Jim Pearce
