Susan, we would like to know about your Carver line. We are trying to find a link between
the Tennessee Carvers and the Carvers of Allen and Barren Counties, Kentucky. Any
further information on your line would be very much appreciated.
The following is from the Glasgow Weekly Times, issue dated September 11, 1879, under the
heading "Fountain Run Sept 5"
Anderson Carver, who shot himself and wife last week, is dead. He shot himself in the
head and lived about three hours. His wife is yet alive, and there are some hopes of her
recovery. The ball entered her head on the left side and about one and a half inches
above and in front of the ear, passing through the skull and under the skin about three
inches. It is supposed the ball affected the brain very little, if any. The cause of the
shooting was jealousy. Carver had made arrangements to start to Texas within a few days.
He was twenty-four years of age, and his wife twenty-three. Both were of good families.
He leaves three little children.
