What I really need to know is where is Euel on the 1860 or later census. I found his war record and it states he was in Madison Co., NC after discharge but I haven't been able to search him out on it. I may have to go look at it page by page. I found his family showing children other than Talitha A. and Sarah but I like to double check for myself. Some info that has been posted over and over is two children of David C. Carver. They are Massa A. and Lomasha E. If you search for either you won't find them after the one census you think they are on. Massa A. is the same as Mary A. and Lomasha E. is the same as Samantha E. I spent a long time looking at the name Lomasha and comparing letter by letter to the same letters in this census on other pages. The letter "n" was left out and the s is a t. And the L at the beginning is the way that person wrote his S. He apprently had bad handwriting and didn't spell very well. Also, David died after 1880 even though his tombstone state 18!
70. He was on the 1880 census.
As for Euel. Messages say he was married a second time to Eliza. This error may be my fault, not sure. The census looks like Eliza but again after studying a long time I found it is actually Kisiah but spelled Chiaza. I searched for the whole state of NC. The whole family seems to have disappeared.
I appreciate your reply. If you find Euel on 1860 let me know.

Peggy, can you tell me if you found Lydia Catherine on census after 1880? I can't seem to find her. I only have one child (Mary Elizabeth) and I would like to have all. I see you mention a Joseph. Do you know why she left Henry? And did he remarry? I found a cemetery record of a H.C.Mathis in the Plott Cem.
