Hi Matthew,
I am interested in your reply about Serina Carver, I am also descended from a Serina Carver and I have seen information about two. I do not think that my gg-grandmother is the same Serina, but I think knowing more info about yours would help me decipher the info I find about mine. I know that you said you only have the internet at work, but would like you to reply if you are willing to share your info, before I snail mail you.
Thank you for reading this post. I look forward to hearing from you.

We are trying to put together some information on our line of Carvers My ggrandfather was Elias Carver born Harrison Co Indiana 1840. He had two wives Louisa A Neely and Sarah Catherine Sheckels. We are not sure of the names of all his children from his 1st marriage. From his 2nd marriage, he had: Daisy Bell Carver born 1891, Alva born 1897 (mygfather) and Ella and Della,(twins) born Feb 1901 We were told that Elias is buried in Otterbin Cemetary near Laconia IN. My mother had occasion to visit with Alva's sisters in Mauckport in the mid 1960's. Sadly, all of that generation has since passed on. In my father's generation, all 4 of Alva's sons have passed away.I know that there were cholera epidemics back in the 1800's;the spanish influenza epidemic in the early 1900's and the Ohio flood in 1937. We can account for Elias having the 4 children named above and also Benjamin (birthdate unknown) and a son named Andy? who died in an accident at the age of 4 years. We cannot go b!
ack any further than Elias and have no knowledge of his parents, brothers, sisters. We have not been able to connect him with any known Carver family.Since his family were among the first settlers of Mauckport Indiana and since my grandfather and his wife lived in the area around there and near Laconia and Leavenworth, I am guessing that somewhere there are relatives on either side of the Ohio River between KY and IN. Any help would be appreciated I have located a few of my cousins, but they do not have any information either. Another Carver researcher told us Elias was from Switzerland Co. IN and that his father's name was Stephen, but we cannot find any record anywhere of that Stephen Carver. Thanks
