Hi, I agree 100percent. I believe I have written to you before. I have spent 3 yrs. trying to find the parents of John Carver. The census of Plymouth Twp., Pa. states that he was born in Al. I talked to a g Uncle several yrs. ago and he said John came from Bellefonte, Jackson Co.,Al. about the age of 11. John was born in 1848 and that would make it about 1859 when he was sent to Pa. A younger sister Sara or Sarah was sent to Pa. with him and a family by the name of Bradley took them in.
John Carver died in 1919 but there is no death certificate for him. Harrisburgh sends back word that there is nothing on file. How do I get a birth certificate for him when history shows that Bellefonte was totally burned during the Civil War.
Why was John and sister Sarah sent to Pa. at such a young age? I can only guess that their father was joining the Union forces and didn't want to let them stay in the south. Their father had married an indian lady who was part black. This info has been passed down through the family.
John Carver married Clara Barber and I have info from there to the present. It is so frustrating and I would be grateful if we could get together and find Johns parents.
Sincerely, Ann Carver Sladek

Anna Bell Carver was the daughter of Elias and Mary Carver. She was born in 1870 in Southampton, PA. She married Albert Praul but had records show she was previously married, divorced and had a daughter named Phoebe Ester born March 1901. Any information on Anna Carver's first husband and father of Phoebe would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
