Howdy All Y'all,
As I posted a couple weeks ago, I buried the last of my maternal Caruthers line on 4/28.
While together with the few family in the area, my natural instinct was to gather as much
genealogical data as possible!!
Although I found nothing earth-shattering, my brother did give me a page of typewritten
info that I'd like to pass on. We thought it refered to our ancestor John H but does
not appear to be the right John.
BUT... given the reference to Serilda Ann and John H, this document does throw some
confusion factor my way!!!! My data shows John H b 1816 and Serilda Ann White in Smith Co
TN. The timeframe is right. But what are the chances of a John H and a Serilda Ann in both
TN and TX in the same timeframe?? Mind boggling!!
My momma also told me we were related to Sam Houston, and that is referenced here. Please
note that no Caruthers are shown among those killed at the Alamo.
My Caruthers line also had very strong ties to Hill Co TX.
I'd appreciate anybody's take on this info, and hope it helps someone.
Y'all take care
Pat
