Gary.....
Has anyone heard of a Richard Carty-McCarty born about 1750-1760...He was
from Culpepper County Virginia...He was a Revolutionary Soldier and was
killed before 1784...His son Abner Carty settled in Russell-Scott County
Virginia...His sons went to Eastern Kentucky....Anyway, after recieving this
message about Darby McCarty and his wife Hannah Richardson...I am wondering
if he is of this line.. Frederick County Virginia had some settlers who
migrated down the Shenandoah Valley to South Central Virginia as well...
One line of Richardsons came from Bedford County VA to SW VA to Eastern
KY.....I have this line also......

Subject: DARBY MCCARTY OF PENNSYLVANIA AND VIRGINIA
Am interested in DARBY MCCARTY who married HANNAH RICHARDSON in
1736--the
marriage recorded in the First Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. Was
that the place of the marriage or did the minister possibly travel a
circuit and only record the marriages there? When Darby McCarty migrated
to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia he was said to be from Bucks Co.,
Pennsylvania. He died after 1787. His numerous children were mostly
raised and married in Frederick Co., Virginia. Their names: James, Mary,
Isaac, Sarah, Rachel, Elizabeth, Hannah, Enoch, Jonathan, Lydia, and
Benjamin.
