I've been searching JAMES CARTY for years. Born about 1825-30 in Ballydooley,
Co. Roscommon.
Father: JOHN CARTY of Ballydooley, Co. Roscommon. Born about 1800
Grandparents: EDWARD CARTY of Dunamon, Co. Roscommon (but perhaps born in Co.
Louth) and MARY FINN of Fuerty, Co Roscommon. [EDWARD CARTY lived 110 years,
from 1730 to 1840]
JAMES CARTY had emigrated to America by 1877. I found a JAMES CARTY in
Oregon in the Willamett R. region, and Lake Carty is named after him, but I
have not found out his origins,
Great grandparents: JOHN CARTY (perhaps originally of Drogheda, Co. Louth)
and ELLEN PLUNKETT ( niece or grandniece of St. Oliver Plunkett or Bishop
Patrick Plunkett) [Both great grandparents born about 1705-1710]
