Pete:
Has your name always been spelt Cavill? I remember working with a guy
in Cape Town ho was originally from Ireland and his first name was spelt
Caval? I guess there can be a multitude of spellings depending on
education, dialect & country, eh?
This time of internet access has truly opened doors for us much faster
than before. It's exciting to see our family trees take shape not only
through our own efforts, but by family we'd never even dreamt of before
meeting them on-line.

Subject: [CARTWRIGHT] Distant Relatives
I have just about stopped dotting the i's and crossing the t's with my
Cavill/Cartwright family researches, quite happy to let the next
generation(s) of our family to have a go....if they are interested
enough, that is.
In recent times, I have concentrated on trying to find genuine
alive'n'kicking distant relatives of my Cavill line, however they now be
so surnamed. A couple of days ago, such a distant relative(maternal
line) contacted me; which brings my contacts up to four in my Cavill
line, plus one on my late Mother's line. It's what I call "putting flesh
on the bones", and coming to realise just who far we descendants have
roamed since the days when our ancestors rarely strayed from "home".
Little bits and pieces of information here and there, tells me that some
"ancestral inheritances" have filtered down to make us have something in
common; and for one, am pleased about that.
