Emma Elizabeth Cartwright married Arthur Wakelam 28.09.1903 - their children
etc are all known.
According to marraige cert she was 24 - her father was George (ironically
same first name and same address as her in-laws) and he was a pottery art
moulder. Witnesses were Wakelam's, so that's no help either.
There are NO George Cartwrights on the LDS 1881 census with a daughter called
Emma (Emily or otherwise).
One Emma Elizabeth Cartwright on 1901 - keeping her on the back-burner as she
was born in Denbighshire which is (allegedly) where my grandfather met her.
One George Cartwright in 1901 born in similar area. Unfortunately the 1881
census for this man does not link to Emma - but I am still quite curious
about it.
Brick walls - understatement!
I have searched and printed off what seems like hundreds of records on the
LDS and BMD for Emma's and George's.
I have now gone cross-eyed with this one!
If anybody has ever happened across Emma Elizabeth anywhere in the Midlands
or North Wales areas with a father called George - please, please let me know.
Best wishes and happy listing!
