We do grant to John Carteret of North Carolina, a tract of land
containing two hundred and fifty acres, lying on the northeast side of
Pasquotank River, beginning at the northeast end of the Dogwod Ridge,
then south west, then north in the Beaver Dam Swamp, then down the same,
which land was formerly granted patent dated the 23rd day of March
1713/14, to John and Abigail Guilford, and by them elapsed for not
seatin and planting, and is now become due to John Carteret.
