I went to the library today and took a minute to look at both the 1850 and 1870
Census for Coles Co. ,IL. I was trying to figure out if George and Edward
are not only brothers but children of my John. I really got no answers except
that there was an age difference on Edward. Did you happen to read the 1860
Census and if so would you mind sending the reading to me or posting it to the
list. I would suspect that being married in Bracken, Edward was probably from
Mason but have not checked to see which Cartmill's were there yet. Here is what
I found today:
