Eleanor,
It is so nice to hear from you and I hope that you will share in our
project.
Now a word of warning, be careful with your research if it is based on the
works of T. K. Cartmell there are errors in that work. Also some of the
earlier researchers have errors.
That was the main purpose of putting together the page. If we can all
share the research maybe we can get it straight. If you will allow me I
would love to add what you have gathered to our page and a short paragraph
about you to the researchers page so those in that line can contact you. I
believe we have at least a couple from that line.
We have pinned down (I think, HA!) the father of John (who m/ Mary Clark)
as John Cartmill who married Susannah Ward. They lived in Bath Co. VA.,
then later in Harrison County, KY. Where John (the father died). I am
posting this to the list so the other researchers can correct me if this is
not correct. Also Phil Cartmille will be contacting your Aunt, he is
taking care of the mail resources for us. Please let me hear from you
again.

Subject: Cartmill/Cartmel researchers
<< File: ATT00001.html >> Hello Earliene: I just found your Cartmill's
Clearinghouse web page after seeing the address posted on the Cartmell
roots-l listserv. My gr-gr-grandmother was Martha Damaris Cartmel, who
married Samuel Cones, sheriff of Barton Co, MO, and there are 2
genealogists in my family that are researching her family -- me, at the
above email address, and my aunt, Carol Dickey, who is 87 and retired, but
a very active researcher. I'm sure she would love to be contacted -- she's
at P. O. Box 263, Bouse, AZ 85325. We only recently learned from the
Barton County, MO historical society who Martha's parents were -- John
Cartmel and Mary Scott, which has led me to a number of online family trees
going back to a Nathaniel Cartmill from England, who appears to have come
over around 1700. Other branches along this line are the Wards, from
Ulster, Ireland, and the Doziers, presumably from France. We are slowly
starting to document, and would love to be in touch with other Cartmel
researchers. Hope to hear from you soon. --Eleanor Wallace--
