[BTM] You will notice in the Will of James CREWES he calls Giles CARTER
his friend and leaves items to Giles CARTER's wife Hannah and their
children. He does not mention any family other than his cousin Mathew
who was his executor. My QUESTION, how can anyone state that Hannah wife
of GILES CARTER was a daughter of James CREW(E)(S) as fact?
FACT: all the records show, James CREW(E)(S) did NOT leave a daughter
named Hannah, nor did he have any lawful issue. see below

p. 7:161 (CWHCVa) Petition to Court: That Capt. James CREWES, late of
this county, dec'd, left NO widow or lawful child. Whereas Mr. William
SHERWOOD, attorney of Rowland Place, Esq., attorney of Matthew CREWES,
Gent., nephew of said James, and son of Francis CREWS, one of the
brothers of said dec'd, and Lt. Col. Thomas GRENDON, as attorney of Sarah
WHITTINGHAM (als. CREWS, and niece of said James CREWS and sole daughter
of Edward CREWS, older brother of James CREWES) did at Court at Varina 1
Dec. 1680 make suit that a commission of administration might be jointly
granted to them. The court appoints said SHERWOOD and GRENDON
administration of the estate, and they are to produce an inventory.

[BTM] Here it clearly show's that James CREW(E)(S) "left NO widow or
lawful child,". So, in fact NO daughter named Hannah!
