I've been searching for a family that lived in OK during the 1940s &
1950s...they might have lived there before or after . The family name is
CARTER. There is an H.Gray CARTER and his wife,Pauline and one son that
I know about, Gary. They were connected someway to the VANDRESAR family
through a woman named Mary VANDRESAR.
All of the above people were friends with Robt.Samuel KERR..Governor >OK
1943-47 US Senator.OK 1949-63.
I think they all went to the same church also. I have pictures with
comments written on the back that make me believe the above to be true.
I have found a site for the Kerr Center that has a brief bio on Sen
KERR., but haven't been able to find more detail.
What I am asking the list is:
Where would I search for more about the Senator's personal life..like
what church did he attend?
Does anyone know if I got in touch with O.U. records dept., if they
would release some info. on a former student? I have a picture of H.Gray
CARTER taken at O.U. and he is with the then Gov. Kerr and both are in
cap and gown. Maybe it was CARTER's graduation and the GOV. was making a
speech. Anyway, records could list his parents, etc. I believe
he(CARTER) is deceased and the photo was taken in 1943.
Any help would be appreciated.
