I found this Bible record 6/1999 at Troy Public Library, Troy, Pike Co.,
AL.
From census records I have of Sumter Co, GA, 1850, I know that Samuel
CARTER was
born in SC. See these census records for additional information on
family members.
On my way home from Troy, AL, to Mtn. Home, AR, I stopped at the Darien
Primitive
Baptist Church (established 1883) in Crenshaw Co., AL, near the town of
Luverne.
I found the burial places of several of the above people in the Church
cemetery.
Malissa E. CARTER September 26, 1837-Oct. 8, 1904
Isabel E. wife of Z C BOZEMAN, December 7 1825-November 25 1885
53 years 11 months 18 days
Z C [Zimry Carter] BOZEMAN, In loving memory of, born June 4 1814,
died September 29 1900, 86 years 3 months 25 days
[I also believe Emily A. CARTER was buried there, but at the time I
didnt know she had
married a FLOYD. There were several FLOYD graves near these CARTER
graves.]
There were other CARTER grave sites as well as BOZEMAN. Above Samuel
CARTER
who first owned the Bible had a sister Amy who married Etheldred
BOZEMAN. Amy
BOZEMAN is also in the Sumter Co., GA, 1850 census, and it also shows
she is from SC.
I believe Zimry Carter BOZEMAN is her son. He married his first cousin,
Isabel E.
CARTER?
Thank you,
Cynthia CARTER DYER
