I would like to find a link to the ancestors of Uriah Carter. Information
from 1840 census places him in Randolph Co. Under his name is a William
Carter. listed is one male 30 & under 40, one female under 5, and one female
20 & under 30.
The 1850 Census for Coosa Co Al. Wetumpka, lists the following:
421. Uriah 41 GA Farmer $430.
Sarah 33 NC
Adelaide 11 AL
Rufus 9 AL
Lucy 7 AL
Thomas 3 Al
Charles 3 AL
Albert 3/12 AL.
There is a William Carter in the same twp.
Next he is found in the 1860 Coosa Co, Rockford twp census as below:
1460. Uriah 48 M W Farmer real estate value $700 personal prop. $1000 GA
Sarah 45 F W Housewifery GA
Rufus 18 M W Farmhand AL

S or A 12 M W "
C. 10 M W "
Thos 10 M W "
John 8 M W "
Sallie 6 F W "

There are obvious errors in these. Charles Wister Carter and Thomas Wasten
Carter are twins. Next I find my ancestor, Charles, with his own family in
the 1880 census of Kaufman Co Texas.
