I don't know if I told any list before but we have found mistakes on the
census CD's
We don't know if it is all states and all years.
While typing up the 1800 census for Suffolk co NY for the web page another
researcher was was checking...unknown to me in the beginning, to see if they
were the some and found the usual I see some names one way..the CD was
different.
i.e. I se L'Hommedue.........the cd was Shommedue...what was a shocker was
that some.....not all the first five number were switched with the second five
numbers sample from cd
Samuel no name 00000 00010 00
now that say samuel was a FEMALE......when on the film
samuel no name 00010 00000 00 is shown
all I say...if you find a name thats a possibility PLEASE check the census
yourself. the cd's and even the usgenweb census are only as good as the people
that do them...and we are only human....not God....not perfect.
USGENWEB and Census CDs are only TOOLS
I can just see a researcher trying to find 5 sisters on there was none.
I won't go into the census themselves....
I haven't heard anything about the CDs that gives you the complete
page.....If anyone has used them please let us know
