I don't have any PINKs, but there is a town in Oklahoma (near Norman) named
Pink after the founder. There was also a
Lt.Gov. of Oklahoma a few years
ago named Pink WILLIAMS who explained that it was a family name.

Dear Jim Carter,
I have seen mentioned the name Pink shortened from "Pinkney". There
are English Pinkneys landing very early in the New Haven, MS Bay Colony in
1600s and migrating. And there are French Pinkneys arriving into the port
of Charleston. Study your immagration maps. That is so unique.
I belong to the BlackSheep-L(a)rootsweb.com list and they mentioned
wanting a Pinkney Carter as a suspect to a crime. We cannot choose our
relatives.
Happy hunting.

Has anyone heard of the name Pink Carter. My great
grandfather's middle name was Pink and I wonder if
that may have been an old family name passed down from
generations. Thanks.
Jim Carter
