I am posting once again in hopes someone new has joined the list looking for the same Ben

child born in TN, and they made a cradle out of a wooden box that held 12 boxes of soda
of which they made the journey to Arkansas in a covered wagon. In this cradle he crossed
the Mississippi River in route to Arkansas from Tennessee. Lucy Carter was born in
Arkansas March 1, 1891. Thomas Carter arrived on Dec. 5, 1895 for a total of 13 children
for this couple. Ben served!
in the Confederate Army where he enlisted on Oct. 1, 1863 at the ripe old age of 18 years
old, at Dardanelle, AR He was mustered in on Dec. 10, 1863 at Banton, AR by Captain
Martin. He was discharged from service on June 10, 1865. All this information came from
the book called "Our Heritage" published by Montgomery Co., historical society.
Anyone who has info on this Michael (sometimes spelled Mical) Benjamin Carter I would
like to make contact with. You can email me directly or answer to the Carter list which
ever is better for you. I have been told that Possibly his father was John Carter born in
VA married Isabella ? born in TN. A person told me that they found this in the 1850
census for TN 5th civil district, Wayne Co., TN If anyone has a way to look this up for
me I sure would appreciate it. And see if they continued to be listed in the Census in
later years. They listed children as James 10 year old Male......Mary 7
yr..Female....Benjamin 5 year Male !
(this would be about right for my g-grandfather Ben Carter)......Jane 2 yr. Female.
So if anyone knows this family I would really appreciate ANY info you might have or any
leads for me to find my gg-grandparents......parents of Ben.
Thanks in advance!
