I did not find a Caswell Carter listed in "1870 Census - Tennessee", an
index, by Byron Sistler.

Hi hate ask but if in your hunt for Benjamin. If see that one
the
Benjamin was also called Caswell or had son of that name could let know.
There is a book Called " TENNESSEE COUSIN" if has lot of Carter in it.
