I am posting my family line. They are from DeSoto County,
Mississippi. They left this area in the early 1900's for Texas, Ca. and
Mo.
If anyone has anything to add or correct, with documentation, please
contact me.
William Alexander WHITE, born abt. 1825, Va., died Gorman, Tx. 1907.
Married Sarah Adeline JONES, born 1834, Tn., on September 8, 1853 in
DeSoto County, Ms. William is the son of Wm. George WHITE.
Wm. George WHITE is said to have been living in Memphis area of
Tennessee. Wm. George WHITE is said to have been a railroad engineer.
Said to have driven the first train across Ms.? Would like to find more
on the first railroad to cross Ms.
Any information on this would be helpful.
Sarah Adeline JONES is the daughter of Lucinda PERRY (d/o Daniel Jackson
PERRY) and David M. JONES died 1844? Ms. (influenza epidemic)
Children of William and Sarah were:
S. C., born 1854, Ms. female, believed to have died young.
George WHITE, born abt. 1856, Ms., married Ellen?, Lived near Memphis,
Tn.
Mary WHITE, born 1858, Ms. Died Gorman, Tx. married J. P. CARTER
Davie WHITE, born abt. 1863, married Lucy ?, went to California
Elizabeth Ellen WHITE, born 1867, Ms. married James H. F. HENLEY, Went
to Texas.
Jesse Jones WHITE, born 1868, Ms. married Elizabeth Kelly ANDERSON,
went to Missouri.
Tiny (Josephine?) WHITE, born 1871, Ms., married W. F. COVINGTON
James W. WHITE, born 1872, died 1940, Ft. Worth, Tx., married Eula L.
HENLEY.
Martha Ann WHITE, born 1875, Ms., died unter, Tx., married W. E.
HUTCHERSON/HUTCHESON
Nellie WHITE, born 1877, Ms. married John FRISBY
The next three children were living with this family according to school
records. They may be granddaughters? Need more information on them....
