PATSY,
This is the line I have been posting about in the last couple of days.
I am hoping for confirmation on more of this information. This is what I
have listed for the children of William Carter. I have a copy of the
Christ Church register records and a copy of William's Will, and according
to those the children were:
Wm Carter & Penelope Pews children:
1) Mary Carter, b. October 23, 1681, Baptism date in Christ Church Parish,
Middlesex Co, VA; m. MR. HUGHES (her married name according to Williams
Will),
2) Thomas Carter, b. August 05, 1683, Baptism date in Christ Church Parish,
Middlesex Co, VA; m. Susanna _____
3) William Carter, , b. November 06, 1687, Baptism date in Christ Church
Parish, Middlesex Co, VA.
4) and possibly Elizabeth b. June 06, 1686, from "Parish Register of Christ
Church, Middlesex Co, VA from 1653-1812" I'm not sure this Elizabeth belongs
to William & Penelope. There was another William Carter who married
Elizabeth Russell in Jun 1685 in this parish and she could be their
daughter. It listed her parents as just William Carter, no mothers name.
But she could still be William & penelope's daughter though.
William Carter & Mary Goodloes children:
5) George Carter,b. April 22, 1692, Christ Church Parish, Middlesex Co, VA;
m. ELIZABETH PROCTOR. (I have lots of info on them here and in Spotsylvania
County)
6) Robert Carter, , b. June 30, 1706, Baptism date in Christ Church Parish,
Middlesex Co, VA. Married don't know. (I have seen mention that his
daughter Elizabeth married Robert Huddlestone which is why Robert
Huddlestone shows up alot on deeds and paperwork of Robert Carter's brother
George and brother Joseph. Huddlestone witnessed Joseph Carter's Will)(I
also have not seen the proof on the daughter Elizabeth yet. Hopefully
someone will have that)
7) Philip Carter, b. December 10, 1693, Christ Church Parish, Middlesex Co,
VA; d. February 27, 1719/20, Christ Church Parish, Middlesex Co, VA.
Married don't know her name.
8) Ann Carter, b. January 23, 1700/01, Baptism date in Christ Church Parish,
Middlesex Co, VA. (I have seen mention that she married Benjamin Matthews
but I have not seen the proof on that yet either).
9) Joseph Carter, b. April 30, 1704, Baptism date in Christ Church Parish,
Middlesex Co, VA; m. CATHERINE AMMON, December 01, 1731, Christ Church
Parish, Middlesex Co, VA. (I have lots of info on them here and in
Spotsylvania County)
10) another Mary Carter (reason for 2 Marys either by different Mother or
the first Mary died?).
11) Penelope Carter b. July 15, 1694, Baptism date in Christ Church Parish,
Middlesex Co, VA. "Parish Register of Christ Church, Middlesex Co, VA
from 1653-1812" - shows her baptism date, and names her father as William
Carter but no mother's name; Not sure she belongs to this William Carter,
because she also is not mentioned in his Will, but neither is the last 5 of
his children who are shown to be Willliam & Mary's children by the Register
of Christ Church Parish. It might be that William named the older children
in his Will (especially the children of his first wife Penelope) because
they were no longer minors, and he wanted to be sure they were not forgotten
in the estate distribution. So Penelope is most likely his daughter, named
in honor of his first wife, but born by his second wife.
I have also seen the following 2 children listed for William Carter but have
not seen any proof on these. If anyone has any please come forward:
1) John Carter married Mary Rice
2) Sarah Carter married Mark Wheeler
Mary Goodloe Carter then married John Bristow and a couple of their children
were:
1) Jedediah Bristow married Catherine Tomson & Eleanor ?
2) Mary Bristow b.Aug 15, 1715, married Christopher Ammon Jan 29, 1735
according to Christ Church Parish Records
If anyone can add to this information please do so.
Thanks, kathy Wells.

Can someone post the names of the children of William Carter & Mary Goodloe
and each generation up to 1800, including approximate dates of birth, who
they
married, and area in which they lived? Thank you, Patsy Carter Garrison
