I have Alpheus Manford Carter 1847-1915, (sometimes listed as Manford Alpheus Carter)
married to Nora or Lanora or Amelia Nora Herring, 1859 - about 1912, in Fort Scott, Kansas
21 January, 1877. Nora was the daughter of Daniel W. Herring Aug 1818 - Aug 1892, and
Elender Sevier. If you have information on this Herring family, I'd like to talk to
you.
Thanks,
Frank Ross

Frank,
The Herring family is so researched that I am bound to have something that might help
you. Let me look in my books and see what is in them and get back to you.
When I was researching last night, I know I saw Daniel W. Herring.
My gggrandfather Coles M. Herring left Arkansas and went to Kansas instead of going back
to Mississippi. He married a woman there and then spent the rest of their lives raising a
family in the Indian Nation in Oklahoma.
Thanks,
Polly

Thanks Polly,
I haven't started researching this family, but Lanora or Nora was my grandmother's
mother, so it will be on my agenda at some point.
