Cook-Carter.
The wedding of Miss Blanche Clifton Carter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S.
Carter, of Roanoke, to Patrick Kempton Cook was celebrated June 16, at 3:30 P.
M., in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Saltville, the Rev. John J. Lloyd, D. D.
officiating.
Roses and ferns were used in church and altar decoration. Miss Lucy Claytor
playes the wedding marches, and during the ceremony, "Hearts and Flowers." Miss
Lillian Hagan, gowned in white chiffon and carrying pink roses, was maid of
honor, and Dr. James Lewis Early the best man. Little Miss Alice Blanton was
ringbearer and the ushers Henry Miller, Allen Jennings, Robert Shannon and G.
T. Lee. The bride, in white satin and princess lace, had a shower bouquet of
Bride roses, and came in with her brother, E. C. Carter, who gave her in
marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Cook will be at home in Saltville after July 1.
Among the out-of-town visitors attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. M. L.
Carter, Roanoke; E. C. Carter, Pulaski; Mrs. T. F. Cowherd, Clifton Forge; Miss
Lillian Hagan, Wilson, N. C. and Miss Susie Lee, of Fauquier.
