Do you have any information on a Samuel Carter b. @1810? I believe
there may have been some connection between Samuel and Vincent.
Samuel was in Giles Co. TN with Vincent on the 1840 census.
THANKS!

| Hello Mara,
| I live in a tiny little community called Temperance Hall in DeKalb
Co., TN,
| which joins Smith Co.,TN. I have only lived in Tenn. about 16
months , and
| I don't know this Carter Family which live in my community , I know
about
| them. What I know I got from a book called "THROUGH THE YEARS WITH
MISS OCIA
| (1952-1984)" Complied by Marjorie Hayes and Nadene Carter. Miss Ocia
was
| Ocia Francis Mason Carter wife of Charlie Ivan Carter. Miss Ocia was
a
| writer for The Smithville Review Newspaper of Smithville, TN. Nadene
Carter
| is the wife of Kenneth Carter the s/o Ocia and Charlie Carter. Some
of this
| Carter Family lived in Gordonsville Smith Co., TN. What caught my
eye was
| the marriage of Vincent Carter to Elizabeth Rose. I also have Rose's
living
| in my area, which are an old Dekalb Co. Family.
| Don't know if the Carters and the Rose's of DeKalb and Smith Cos.,
TN are of
| any value to you , but if I can look up something at the library for
you I
| will be glad to. The Smithville, DeKalb Co and the Carthage , Smith
Co.,
| Libraries both have good resources on Tenn.
|
