Thank you very much, Kathie. Maybe I will find something there. I
know that Spencer Carter was a presbyterian--the church in Greenwich,
Warren County, NJ is that and he and his wife are buried there. He
was an elder, I think.
Having said that, I also know that if I have the right family, they
were quakers early on. I have found Henry Carter/Susannah Colley
records in Hinshaw's mm records, but nothing on the Spencers so far.
Susanna Colley Carter just disappears after she married James Cooper.

I need help with the ancestors of my Spencer Carter who was born July
1839 in probably Hunterdon County, NJ. He is buried in the Greenwich
Cemetery in Greenwich TWP, Warren County where he died 30 Dec 1812.
HIs wife was Sarah Hoff 1748-1822. She is buried next to him.
His parents were:
Henry Carter who died 2 Oct 1752 in Hunterdon County. He was married
to Hannah Spencer. I have no dates for Hannah. She married Arthur
Howell for her second husband. Hannah's father was William Spencer
1685-bef. 5 Jan 1738. The Spencers lived in Trenton, Hunterdon
County, NJ.
Henry Carter parents may have been:
Henry Carter(1)/ Susannah Colley (Colly)
Henry was a brickmaker in Philadelphia and he died in 1709. He was a
quaker. HIs parents were Thomas Carter/Frances. Thomas died in
Philadelphia 8n 1689. Frances died in 1694. Their immigration date
was 1685. They were quakers also.
Susannah was also a quaker and was the daughter of John/Susanna
Colley who immigrated with their children to Philadelphia in 1683.
After the death of Henry Carter (1), Susannah married James Cooper.
I am trying to verify the link between Henry Carter (1) and Henry
Carter (2).
I do not think that the Spencers were quakers.
Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Judith,
I looked at LDS
www.familysearch.org for Quaker records for
Hunterdon County
and did not see any. But I found this, you might be interested
in: The
William Wade Hinshaw index to Quaker meeting records in the Friends
Library

2197
When I put the town of Greenwich,in NJ on that site, I did not see
any
Greenwich in Hunterdon County but found it as a Township in Warren
County?
They did not have any Quaker Records filmed.
It is interesting that I was just at Greenwich, CUMBERLAND County, NJ
researching some other line.

Hi Judith,
Well, I should have read more carefully. You might want to check that
site out and see what Church Records you can find there - I saw one
that had
records 1769 - ?
