Dear Mary,
Thanks for the reply about Pinkney Carter. May I ask what your documentation is about
this connections? So many claim him so I was be very careful about certified
documentation. King Carter was well documented but his thousands of relatives were not.
You have the right history on King though. This is where so many mulatto Carters began,
too, so be prepared for anything.
Keep in touch.

Hey SHaron,
I just saw your reply to Jim about Tom P. Carter and the reply you made about a
murderer in FL named Pinkney Carter. I hope he wasn't my relative either. Since I
found out that Pinkney Carter was really Charles Pinkney Carter and his father was Landon
Carter, I also found out I was kinned to Robert "King" Carter. So named because
he was THE first millionaire in America. How bout that?!! He was alos one of the first
colonial families in America. He owned something like 333,000 acres of land, had 1,000
slaves and over 1000 pounds of money when he died. He also had 17 children. This could
explain why my family never got a chunk of the change. HAHAHA. I want to thank you again
for helping me search for my PINKNEY. Not only in this family tree are there such famous
people as Benjamin Harrison, signer of Dec. of Independence, George Washington, Robert E.
Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Though all these people are so far removed , they really
don't count, it's neat to have them i!
n the tree that connects. Have you had any luck in your search? Oh, yeah. Not only were
these Carters rich they also had 2 Carters who were sent to a lunatic asylum. I guess
there's a rotten egg in every crate. :). Have a great day. I guess they captured that
Pinkney Carter?

I don't know if this has anything to do with your Pinkney, but while I was
looking in Ancestry for my William Jackson Carter, I found a Charles
Pinckney Carter married to Nancy Elizabeth Egan. Their son was Stonewall
Jackson Carter, b. August 12, 1864, d. July 31, 1935.
