Leland,
If I'm not mistaken, I believe all or at least most of those that did
the DNA on the CarterDNA project used Family Tree DNA. We paid for a 1st
cousin on my husband's side of the family to do the DNA, and I know that is
who he used. You just have a swab and swab the inside of your cheek, and
send the swab in with an envelope they provided. Everything is very
simple. My husband had done the Wells DNA years ago, they were the first
group to do the project. The Carter website is
http://www.carter-cousins.org/. I have never heard of anyone having any
problems with it. You know they can't do much else with this DNA. They
can't tell you what a person looks like or any such thing. I read on one
of the sites they don't use enough markers for tracking anyone down or
anything like that.
Hope that helps. Kathy Wells.

Hello Cousins,
Has anyone tested with Family Tree DNA? I'm interested in this but don't
want to jump in without references.
