BEN HAGGARD Heirs to LEMUEL A. CARTER
State of Kentucky Cumberland County Sct.
Whereas by a division of the lands of BEN HAGGARD, ELIZABETH HAGGARD, &
ANN HAGGARD Decd among the Children of BEN HAGGARD (they being heirs at
Law of ELISABETH HAGGARD & ANN HAGGARD) lot No. 3 of said land, in the
Survey, & platt made by the Commissioners appointed to lay off undivided
Said Land was as signed to LEMUEL A. CARTER & his wife MARTHA HAGGARD
she being daughter of said BEN HAGGARD and the said LEMUEL A. CARTER
Purchased of C. W. BOULDIN and LUCY BOULDIN his wife like wise heirs at
law of BEN HAGGARD Decd all the right title interest and Claim the same
was deeded & Conveyed unto the said LEMUEL A. CARTER. Therefore know
all men by these presents that we CHARLES G. CARTER and SALLY CARTER his
wife being heirs at law and equal distributes of the land aforesaid and
LEVI JACKSON & POLLY JACKSON his wife being also heirs and equal
distributes in the lands aforesaid do hereby transfer confer and quit
Claim of all the right title interest Claim and demand unto the said
LEMUEL A. CARTER which we as the heirs and distributees of said BEN,
ELISABETH & ANN HAGGARD decd have in and to the two lots No. 3 and 2 in
the platt and division of Said land and by these presents release and
forever quit Claim unto the said LEMUEL A. CARTER & wife of any and all
interest which we have in and to the two lots No. 3 & 2 aforesaid. In
testimony whereof we the said CHARLES G. CARTER & SALLY CARTER his wife
and LEVI JACKSON and POLLY JACKSON his wife have heretunto Set their
hands and seals this 29 day of March 1848. LEVI R. JACKSON, POLLY

State of Missouri, County of Buchannan SS. Be it Remembered that on
this 29th day of March 1848 personally appeared before me WILLIAM FOWAR
clerk of the county Court within and for the County aforesaid LEVI R.
JACKSON and POLLY JACKSON his wife both personally known to me to be the
persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument of
writing as having executed the same and severally acknowledged the same
to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned she the said
POLLY JACKSON being by me first made acquainted with the contents of
said instrument of writing on an examination separate and apart from her
husband acknowledged her right of Dower and inheritance in the lands and
tenements therein mentioned voluntarily freely and without Compulsion or
undo influence of her said Husband. In Testimony whereof I have
hereunto Set my hand and affixed the Seal of Said Court, done at the
Clerks Office in the Town of St. Joseph in the County of Buchannan
aforesaid the day & year last aforesaid. WILLIAM FOWLER, Clerk
State of Missouri, County of Buchannan SS. I ROBERT DUNCAN Presiding
Justice of the County Court within and for the County aforesaid do
certify that WILLIAM FOWLER whose name is affixed to the within and
foregoing certificate of acknoledgement and relinquishment is now and
was at the time of signing the same as acting clerk of the County Court
within and for the County aforesaid and that full faith and credit
should be given to al his official acts as such that his official
certificate is in due form of the law, and that the signature purporting
to be his as Genuine. Given under my hand this 6th day of June 1848.

Kentucky Cumberland County SS. I MILTON KING Clerk of the County Court
for Said County Do Certify that the within deed of conveyance from LEVI
R. JACKSON and wife and CHARLES G. CARTER and SALLY CARTER his wife to
LEMUEL A. CARTER, was produced to me in my office on the 31st day of
July 1848 and acknowledged by the Said CHARLES G. CARTER to be his act
and deed and the Said SALLY CARTER being examined by me privately and
apart from her Said husband declared that She did freely and willingly
Seal and deliver the Same writing and wished not be retract it, and
acknowledged the said writing ___ ___ and explained to her to be her act
and deed, Voluntarily without the persuasion or Coertion of her Said
husband and consentith that the Same may be recorded, whereupon the Said
Deed, together with the two Official Certificates thereon endorsed, with
this my Certificate is truly recorded in my Said Office in Deed book L,
page 291. Given under my hand this 11th day of August 1848. M. KING
