JOHN M. SMITH agent for ROBERT CARTER to WILLIAM FUDGE
This Indenture made this 4th day of June 1847 Between JOHN M. SMITH
Agent and attorney in fact for ROBERT CARTER, of the one part and
WILLIAM FUDGE of the Other part, all of Cumberland County, State of
Kentucky Witnesseth. That the Said SMITH agent and attorney in fact as
aforesaid for and in Consideration of the Sum of two Hundred dollars
paid to Said ROBERT CARTER by Said WILLIAM FUDGE as evidenced by a bond
executed on the 6th of October 1847 by Said ROBERT CARTER to Said
WILLIAM FUDGE binding himself therein to Convey a Certain tract or
parcel of land lying in the county aforesaid, On ALLENS CREEK Containing
by survey One Hundred and eleven acres and by virtue and in
consideration of Said payment and bond, the said SMITH agent and
attorney in fact for Said ROBERT CARTER both by these presents transfer
& convey to said WILLIAM FUDGE, the Said tract of One Hundred and eleven
acres, be the Same more or less, which is bounded as follows viz.
Beginning at a hickory and ash Corner of the Original tract of 106
acres deeded by JNO FUDGE to SAMUEL CARTER, thence with a line of the
Same S 115 poles to an ash Sugar tree and white Oak, on the top of a
ridge S 78° W 80 poles to a hickory on the side of a branch, thence down
the Same S 38 W 20 poles to a planted Stone, near the grave yard N 59 W
26 poles to a large black gum, N 25 W 28 poles to a large elm, S 78 W 20
poles to a stake on the point of a ridge N 37 ½ W 18 poles to a hickory
and Sugar tree, N 34 ½ W 16 poles to a sugar tree & beech saplings, N 66
W 16 poles to a hickory and elm, on the top of a hill, and in the line
of the said 106 acres tract, N 35, E 28 poles to a stake corner of the
50 acre tract, Surveyed in the name of JOHN FUDGE and deeded by him to
SAML CARTER, thence with a line of Same N 25 W 80 poles to a hickory and
fallen sugar tree, Corner to Same, thence with another line of Same __
poles to a beech and white Oak corner to Same __ with another line of
Same to the Beginning.
To have and to hold the Said tract of land with the appurtenances
thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the Said WILLIAM
FUDGE and his heirs forever. The Said SMITH as agent and attorney in
fact for Said ROBERT doth warrant and defend the title to the land
hereby Conveyed free from and against the claim of him the Said ROBERT
CARTER and all persons whatsoever. Witness my hand & Seal. ROBERT

Kentucky Cumberland County S.S. I MILTON KING clerk of the county Court
for Said County Do Certify that JOHN M. SMITH agent and attorney in fact
for ROBERT CARTER Came in person before me in my Office On the 4th day
of June 1847 and acknowledged the foregoing deed of Conveyance to
WILLIAM FUDGE to be his act and deed for the Purposes therein named and
the Same is ordered to Record, which is truly Recorded in my Said office
in Deed book L. page 162. Given under my hand this 12th day of August
