Hi Polly,
I looked at all of the 1850 MS Census Nancy CARTERs and saw only one who
headed a family. Is this the one you are looking for ?
Nancy CARTER, age 44, born about 1806 in NC was living in Subdivision 23,
Choctaw MS
also in the household:
Mary Carter 14
Catharina Carter 12
Martha Carter 10
Marinda Carter 8
Daniel Carter 5
Hope this helps. Don't want to look further until I know which one you are
looking for.
Molly

Hi,
Unfortunately, I don't have a Carter male to do a DNA test. All I have is an
elusive family from the 1850 census in Mississippi. And, a sentence on a
death
certificate that says they also once lived in Kentucky.
Does anyone have a family headed by a Nancy Carter? I have no clue as to who
her
husband was or what her maiden name was. Oldest son was a Daniel Carter a
daughter, Martha, married James Herring.
Thanks,
Polly

I am looking for info on Robert D. Carter who married Sally Jarrett. They
were
married in Jackson GA in 1810. They appear on Jackson GA census in 1830. I
think he may have had a Sarah Carolina Carter that was a sister. She married
George Washington Doss. Rumor has it Sarah and George went to Mississippi.
Could this line be related?
Thanks,
Angie Justice

Hi,
I see your surname is Carter. Do you know your Y-DNA Haplogroup?

I descend from James S. Carter 1837-1903 of Tippah County, Mississippi.
Are
any of your Carters related?
