Isabel C. McCauley
Isabel Carter McCauley, 94, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011,
at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. McCauley was born to the late George and Nell McBride Carter in
Jacksonville, Ohio, raised in Glouster, Ohio, and was a member of Holy Cross
Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, American
Legion Post 290 and a former member of the Virginia Education Association.
She taught third grade at Hartwood Elementary School.
Survivors include her sons, Michael McCauley of Fredericksburg, Daniel
McCauley and wife Diantha of Staunton and Kevin McCauley and wife Sharon of
Chester; her daughter, Martha Brooks and husband Gary; seven grandchildren,
Geoffrey, Craig and Colleen Brooks, Matthew, Ryan and Steven McCauley and
Joshua Wine; and two great-grandsons, Owen and Gavin Brooks. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Patrick McCauley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at
Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A rosary service will be held at 6
p.m.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at St. Mary Catholic
Church. Burial will follow in Stafford Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Brooks, Craig Brooks, Joshua Wine, Kevin
Fuller, David Luck and Steven McCauley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic
Church Building Fund, 1009 Stafford Ave., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401; or to
St. Edward Epiphany Catholic School, 10701 W. Huguenot Road, Richmond, Va.
