Thanks Charles for all the work you have done with the research list and thanks Allen for
stepping forward and helping out.
I'm researching the line of brothers; William Taylor Carter (b. 1805; d.1891) and
John R. Carter b.1808; d.1869) in Ashley Co., Arkansas. They came through Wilkes county,
Georgia in the early 1800's. Their father was John (Jack) A. Carter (b.1784; d. ?)
and mother I believe was Theodocia Dunaway.
John (Jack) Carter's parents were Francis Scott Carter (b.1759? Rockingham Va,; d.
1783 Baldwin, Ga) and Margaret Taylor (b. abt 1768 Rockingham, Va; d.?)
From there back I am finding conflicting information on Francis Scott
Carter's parents. I found some information that indicates his father could have been
John Carter (b. 1737 Henrico, Va.) and married a Rebecca Stewart in 1754, Brunswick Co,
Va.
But I do not have enough info to be positive.
Does anyone have any information on any of these individuals?
Thanks for your help.

Carter Cousins,
Allen Lawrence ( awl1957(a)yahoo.com ) has graciously stepped forward and
volunteered to take the helm of our family research list. I ask that you
all give Allen the same support and respect you have provided me over the
past 14 years.
For the last time, I am signing off as Listowner.

Carter and Wallace Cousins,
I originally started this Carter and Wallace research lists back in 1996,
when the lists were still housed on the computers at the University of
Indiana. Many years later, many changes, new home for the list, yada yada
yada...........
In the past few years, due mainly to home/family & business commitments, and
general apathy on my part, I have neglected the on going maintenance of our
family list. I no longer find that I have the required motivation to be the
group "cheer leader", therefore I ask for a volunteer to take over the day
to day management. Basically, I want to pass the baton on to the next runner
If you are interested, please contact me " Off List " at: cetracer@comcast

Thank you for the past 14 years. I look forward to many more years to come
under new management. Maybe new blood and enthusiasm will promote activity
and renewed interest in the research of our common family name.
Regards,
Chuck Carter
