Do have any thing on Caswell Carter?
Mary, I wonder if you happened to have heard of a Bart or a Barney Carter, b. 1848. This seems to be a popular name in the Carter Family. Linda Harrison Clark, Tn

James Carter born abt. 1734, probably VA., was in Bladen/Robeson Co.,
NC 1768, had sons Isaac (born abt. 1754), James, Mark, and Emmanuel, who
were also in NC with their father. This has been a major brick wall of mine
for a very long time and would really appreciate you looking in your book to
see if my Carter line is mentioned.
Thank You Very Much,

Do you Yahoo!?
Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail.
A lot of Carter questions are help requests are from Carter researchers here in the United States. My grandfather came to California from England. I'm having trouble researching his line there and since some were sailors, I might guess they sailed to to the 'new world' and settled. Have any of the Carter researchers in the South and East Coast traced their name to England? I'm sure that some day I will find names of those who migrated to the colonies and are there today. I might have distant relatives here in the U.S.

QUESTION FOR adyer,??,
Quoting YOU, I,m not directly related to James Carter, BUT do descend from
the same Carter line, <?????> this James Carter was a Nephew of My Ancestor,
Samuel Carter, of Fountain Co. IND.
I have no IDEA as to why you chose not claim kin to the Carter Family,
PLEASE look at your Statement; & Picture the Potential
<THAT OFTEN HAPPENED> That Male that you are Claiming as
<MY LINE> Married your 4th Grt Grand Mother, Grand Mother's
Brother Married, your 4th Grt Grand PA'S Sister, but you only have INFO on
4th Grt Grand PA. When your 4th Grt Grand PA;s
Sister's Grand SON Married your 4th Grt Grand Pa's Grt Grand Daughter. CUZ
YOUR DAUGHTER JUST MARRIED HER Cousin , BECAUSE YOU only concerned your self
with <MY LINE>
OH NO< THAT JUST HAPPENED IN Other peoples Families Occasionally, WELL, I
am here to tell you that JUST Such Happened in MY Family Recently, BECAUSE
those TWO Cousins of mine HAVE no IDEA who they are kin too. NOT only are they
COUSINS, THEY are Cousins Through 4 Family Lines.
SO take a Member of the Family 4 or 5 Generations Back as <MY LINE> THAT MY
LINE person would have no idea who they they were kin too, by the 5
Generation. OF COURSE Marrying a Distant Cousin MAY not Bother THAT MY LINE Descendant.
JUST asking,?? BUT Something to PONDER
I have Some Families that MY records Are connected 9, 11. 12
& one 14 Generations to my Great Grand daughters AT <20 & 19> Years old. &
One of those Ancestral families I had two 4th Grt Grand Fathers Resulting
from Third Cousins Marrying & their Grand Son <my Mothers Parents> Marrying 3rd
Cousins Again
SO NOW for a Fact <MY LINE> I am my own 6 th Cousin.
IN MY family Records They are in there as Part of my Family from My 5th
Grt Grand Father AS my Family.
YOU see when I knew that My 2nd Grt Grand Parent's were 3rd Cousins & their
Son Married his Grand Mothers Sisters Daughter
I did not encounter a BRICK WALL, THAT MY LINE would derailed me in
the_________?? generation.
THIS Should serve as a Genealogical Lesson, ABT MY LINE for
ANY of my Familles. JUST Wonder, Where did MY LINE LOSE
Contact with the Family???
OH NO? HOW abt the times that D. N. A. TRACES back to a ? mark? VERY likely
MY line RECORDS had no ACCOUNTING of who had married Whom.
JUST Picture This, My line's Brother's Grand Son was Connected
to MY LINES Family Member three Gen. BACK, SO MY LINE'S
3rd Grt Grand Pa's Father was That Cousin instead of his 4th Grt Grand PA,
D. N. A. NO MATCH, MY Line has no record of 4th
Cousin,______BINGO BRICK WALL as D. N. A. matches someone??? HAD MY LINE
kept account of 5th Grt Grand Pas Family D. N. A. MARKINGS very likely would
have Made some Connection, in Family records there is NO such thing as TOO much
Information. CUZ A T <atpowelljr(a)aol.com>

Hi Pamela,
Could you do a look up for Sallie Jane CARTER 1860's? She married Cicero McDonald about 1894. She was born in Lineville, Clay Co. Alabama.
Thanks,

Redhead
A man is dining in a fancy restaurant and there is a gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He has been checking her out since he sat down, but lacks the nerve to start a conversation.
Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket towards the man.
He reflexively reaches out, grabs it out of the air, and hands it back.
"Oh my, I am so sorry," the woman says as she pops her eye back in place.
"Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you," she says.
They enjoy a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they go to the theater followed by drinks They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens.
After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap ... and stay for breakfast. They have a wonderful, wonderful time.
The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings.
The guy is amazed!! Everything has been SO incredible!!!!
"You know," he said, "you are the perfect woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?"
"No," she replies.........
"You just happened to catch my eye."
About the Carter's and Cash family.
I have on my Mother's side Pier (Piercy) Carter b. 1813 in Miss. married
Gabriel Washington Osteen in 1834.I understand she died in 1904. They were my
gr.gr.grandparents.
On my Father's side is Francis Cash B. 1847 Ga. who married Thomas Henry
Alston b. 1844 Ga. They are my gr. grandparents.
I need any information on Piercy Carter that I can find. I have no
information as to who she was. She had a son William Prichard Osteen who married
Minerva Ann Mim's. William was born in Tenn.
Thanks to all! Glynda
William Cater born 1841 Denton area of Caroline County, Maryland. Died
April 12, 1889 in Caroline County, Maryland I have a copy of his
discharge papers from the Army -infantry, Served in 1st Maryland
Eastern Shore Regiment, rank: Private Does any one know who his father
and mother were? I can't find anything before him. Have all the
children of he and Susan Elizabeth Cannon. Maybe your relative is a
descendent of a sister or brother.
Thanks

Aloha Pamela,
I would appreciate a look up for Charles CARTER b abt 1743 m to ?. He was
Father of Sarah Sally Carter who married Elliott Herndon, also had Sons
William and Charles Jr (Who married Susannah Tapp) and another daughter
Mary. is alleged to be youngest son of James Carter and Mary Brent, would
like to confrm that and find his wife, is often confused with Charles Carter
of Corotman.
My Charles was supposed born in Stafford County VA and DIed in Culpepper
County Va 1781. The dates may be incorrect, there are about 3 other Charles
of the same generation, mine is probably the humblest of the 4 in terms of
means and standard of living
Thanks
Tim
Still looking for Bentley Frederick Carter, born around 1870ish, presumably
in Georgia. I have nothing on his parentage, and only the vague knowledge
that he had at least one brother, presumably younger. Any chance you've
come across this fairly unusual name?
Katherine, BF Carter's granddaughter
