I have one more line back, thanks to wonderful people on this list.
I need information on George W. Carter, birthplace, Ohio, but his father
was from Va and his mother (unknown) was from Pa
He was born in 1842, and married Susan , born 1852 ..her mother and
father were born in Ohio.
Thanks again.
You people out there are a blessing.
Judy
I have received a letter from a lady who is looking for information on
the CARTER - GARRARD line of Lancaster, Westmoreland, Stafford, and King
George areas of Virginia.
Is anyone working on this family?
Thanks
meg
I'm looking for info on John E. Carter and his family. A family friend
helped us research things and we found out my grandmother was his daughter.
She never really talked about her past and even went as far to lie about her
last name. She had always told us it was Beckham but we recently found out
she was a Carter. We have no idea why she never wanted to tell us the truth.
I did some extra research at familysearch.org and found more info on her
brothers and sisters as well as the full names of her parents so I'm hoping
someone out there has more info for me. We'd really like to solve this
family mystery.
Here's what I have
John E. Carter - John E. is the name listed in census info from S.C. but
according to some searches, his middle name is actually Ezekiel. He was
supposedly from TN born around 1882. I know Ezekiel seems to be a family
name so hopefully he fits in there somewhere.
(Wife) Sara Ida Humphries - I got her full name from familysearch as well.
She was supposedly born in 1887 in N.C.
These are their children:
Zella Mae (1906-1974)
Prince (1912-1972) (married Macie Broom)
Humphries Desco (1914-1968) (Married Flossie Teague, had 2 children)
Homer Lee (1918-1990) (my grandmother)
Everette Theo (1922-1974)
Margaret F(1925-????)
Arnold Reo (1928-1956)
Also, I came across a Viola Ellen (b. 1909) the other day who appears to
have died as an infant.
Familysearch has some sort of record on all the children except my
grandmother (Homer) and Margaret which kind of adds to the mystery. All the
info has them from Chester County, S.C.
I know there are a bunch of Carters in Chester but I don't know if there is
any direct relation since John E. supposedly was originally from TN. But
that could be wrong as well. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.
