Subject: John Robert Carter
Dear rooters,
I'm looking for a cousin of mine is name is John Robert Carter he was born about 1968 to 1970 in the Sanfrancisco area of California. This request is not so much for me as it for his younger half brother Mark Carter. Mark has MS and at times is very sick, he has spent the better part of the last three years in and out of hospitals. His one request has been to find his half brother. I have done about all i can to help find him. I feel this is my last alternative, since the California birth and death records have been taken of the net it has been hard to locate him. I'm hoping that some one out there will recognize John Roberts Carter's name and help me us out. The only thing i know about John Robert Carter is his mother's name was Christina and his father's name was William R Carter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Jennie Durao

Samuel Carter was born 1740 and the s/o William and Sarah Carter. Samuel married Letitia Morgan about 1769.in Montgomery Co. ,NC. Their children( that I know) were Clement , Laban, Henry and Susannah Carter. It is thought that William Carter came from Somerset Co Maryland.

Seeking any information for a LUDWELL CARTER, other than the one in Owen
Co., Indiana... (Mine) Trying to find out where the name came from, or to
find another line with the name. I am seeing the name Ludwell Carter used as
first and middle name in a number of families..
My Ludwell, born 4-3-1837,In., was son of John CARTER Jr.,born 1-2-1813 in
Ky., who was supposed to be a cousin to Robert E Lee... I am trying to find
the connection, as I am at a brick wall on my CARTERs.
Thanks,

I am beginning work on a John CARTER, b.1760-80 [based on birth date of
daughter Elizabeth Gertrude Carter in 1798 (in Marlton, Burlington, NJ) and
at least four other children (order of birth uncertain)], md. 1794 Deziah
White, 1774-1854, d/o Rufus White and Sara Johnson.
John and Deziah (White) Carter had children John, Rhoda, William, Deziah
Jane, and Elizabeth Gertrude.
There were John Carters in Nottingham Twp., Hanover Twp., and Little Egg
Harbor Twp, Burlington Co, NJ in 1830, 1840 and 1793 respectively. There
were also John Carters in Chesterfield, Southampton, New Hanover, and Egg
Harbor, Burlington Co., NJ in 1850. None are clear matches with "my" John
(although he may well have been dead by 1850) and none include Deziahs in
the household, although two were of the right age to be John's son.
I'd welcome information or advice from anyone who has worked on Carter
families in NJ.
Thanks!
Michael

12 Dec 1866 Rachel CARTER finished a Cherry Tree Quilt for the Needham's
she charged $18.00 for making the quilt.
She had 3 daughters.
Does anyone know if the records of the Batavia newspaper c 1911 are still
available? Where are they located? I wanted to verify the story of the
floor collapse at Rachel's funeral. I'm sure it would have been reported
back then... Joanna

Dear Dick, Do you have anything on Moses Carter and wife Marywho appear in
Hopkins Co., Ky 1820 census. In a land record "of Logan Co., Ky."but I have
been unable to locate any record of him in Logan Co. Their daughter,
Rebecca, m. John Lamson Is Moses related in some way to the Rev. War Sold.
John Carter listed in Hopkins Co.?
And then John and Rebecca Lamson had one dau., Mary Catherine Lamson who m.
in McDonald Co., Mo. Marion Foy Carter - part of the Greene Co., Tn.
Carters.
Could the two Carter lines be distantly related? Any help or contact with
anyone working on Moses Carter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Mary1118(a)aol.com
Several of these names appear to be that of Giles Carter's line out of
Virginia. Several of the descendents moved to middle Tennessee. Could that
be your line?
