I've had a fair bit of positive response about the site - thanks for the
responses. I think I'll stay with it and get on with entering more 1881
relations in my spare time.

Subject: Re: [Carter-UK] Lost Cousins site
Hi,
My one contact on LostCousins has been through a "blood relative"
entry, not an ancestor one. I have only one direct ancestress (supposed to
have been 1st married to a Carter <g>) who was alive and living in England
in 1881. But I've entered close to 100 other people.
Put in ALL of those relatives AND your relatives by marriage! Helpful
information doesn't come only from people descended from those of your
ancestors who were alive in 1881!
No work, no gain. :) And you may learn things by searching for them on
the census. Never know who may be a "visitor" in
a household.

Hi Susan,
I've been a lostcousin member for about a year, and have had no luck with
any matches yet.
:-(.
I don't think I've added all my direct 1881 ancestors yet though and i
know
I've only put in a couple of indirect ones. With luck, over the easter
holidays I'll be able to add some more
