Hi there, I've just joined this list and wondered if anyone is researching
this family? I have the following facts and then lots more guesswork!
My 3x g-grandmother Ann Carter d/o Thomas was born in Garston Lancashire
(just outside Liverpool) in 1813 and she married James Richardson in 1835
and had the following children; Alice Carter Richardson 1836, Anne 1838 (my
2x g-grandmother who marries Samuel Foster), Eliza 1841 (who marries Thomas
Foster as far as I know not related to Samuel), Margaret Carter Richardson
1845 (died 1845) and Mary c1850/1.
Going back to Thomas Carter born 1781/2 Garston I have researched most of
the Carters of Garston and found that they tend to be related. There are at
least four Thomas all born within a few years to four brothers and so far
have only ruled out the son of John and Mary as he dies quite young. Have
not yet decided which of the remainder is mine! But since they are cousins
this as still led me back to the same tree and I have sent for the wills of
Edward Carter d 1679 and Henry Carter d 1707 (son of Edward) so can give
further info if anyone would be interested?
Hoping to be able to discuss this with someone who might be able to provide
further evidence, All the best in your researches, Marian
