AOL rejecting RootsWeb mailing lists email
AOL is again rejecting some or all of RootsWeb's mailing list email. The
block is imposed by AOL and can only be removed by AOL. RootsWeb will be
contacting AOL to discuss this matter though the likelihood is that the
matter will take a few days to resolve.
Est. downtime: 1 week(s)
This problem started yesterday so not too many AOLers have been dropped
so far. If you have an AOL account and you notice you are not getting
mail from a list, check the list's archives to see if you are actually
missing mail and to catch up on what is being posted. Don't try to
resub to the list until the problem is resolved.
Another problem, I have encountered since Friday is that some of the
Rootsweb pages are intermittently inaccessible. We have discussed it in
the Listowners mailing list but no explanation has been given to date.
This morning I can't get into some of my list's utilites...Over the
weekend I had trouble getting into some of the Rootsweb hosted websites.
Yesterday, some normal mail to the lists were blocked by an overly
aggressive Rootsweb spam blocker. I checked all my lists and found
some legitimate mail and unblocked it. So, if you sent a message to a
list, and a day later it posted, now you know why. If you posted a
message that did not go to the list, email me off list and I'll look again.
If you are experiencing any problems, please feel free to email me off
list and I will do my best to help you.
