Jane Nancy Warner Carter and Samuel Carter Divorced in 1893
Jane Nancy Warner Carter married William F. Neff in 1905 they took Daddy
(William Russel Carter) to rear. Nancy Jane and William Neff had no
children. Later Aunt Jane is given to them to rear by Grammie.
The 1920 Census has Jane Nancy and William Neff living in the
Warner's
house (which they owned) at 303 N. Main Street, Mifflintown with Daddy
and
Aunt
Jane.
Mary Bayas Carter had William Russel Carter to Morrison Dunkinson.
Morrison was a carpenter. Daddy's birth is recorded to have taken place at
South
Main Street in Lewistown.
The 1920 Census has Grammie, Mary B. Carter, living with Robert Carter
(Uncle Bob) on North Front St. in Mifflintown. Daddy, 14, and Aunt Jane,
6, living with the Neff's
at 303 N. MAIN ST.., CENSUS says Grammie was renting, divorced (!) and a
lopper at the Hosiery Mill.
No one is related to Neffs. However, William Neff reared Daddy
(William Russel Carter) and Aunt Jane (Nancy Jane Carter) with their
Grandmother, Nancy Jane Carter Neff nee Warner, who aunt Jane was named
after and then of course, my sister, Nancy Jane.
Fondly, Gernilee Carter (or Dunkinson!!!)
So, we are Warners (German), Carter (English), Dunkinson (Scottish) Note
that Great Great Great Grandma Amanda had Bessie within three months of
Great Great Grandma Nancy Jane having Mary B (Grammie).
