Ralph,
I already sent those others to Jack and he sent them back to me and then I
to you. Ask him on line if he can identify any of them before you send them
to him - a g a i n. Please put the party pictures on your Web Site (and
give me the link again, please) They are the ones that I would like to have
even though Donovan E. Carter isn't on them. It sets up the stage for how
they were slammed into war unprepared - actually I have come to blame Truman
more than MacArthur for that. Truman was giving the Joint Chiefs of Staff a
hard time about everything they wanted and stonewalling them and left the
military go down hill, what could MacArthur do in face of that? He just sat
back and enjoyed himself in occupied Japan. Those pictures tell a story and
they also tell me that my brother was, indeed, very happy for a while and
having a good time. That is important for me to know, and perhaps for
surviving family of others killed in those first three battles to know.
Who didn't look that good to you? The Japanese girls? Ralph? what are
you telling me? That you are afraid an offspring might recognize a Dad on
those pictures? Well, maybe that would be a good thing! Let the chips fall
where they may...
Love to you, Gerney Lee Carter (Don Carter's Little sister)

Hello GerneyLee,
The three photos of Don you marked please return, Question Are these the
only ones you want returned. If so I will send all the others I have to Jack
and maybe he and Talley can put names to the ones I can not remember. Please
advise as I will not do anything untill I hear from you. Maybe these party
pictures should not be put on the internnet. Some relative might show up and
say Hi Dad. I donot have to worry as they did not look that good to me and I
am sure Don felt the same way.
Once a month they would truck in a load of dance hall girls to the club and
also have a spring and winter dance affair that I remember. It would show
that we had fun times at the NCO Club. I will have to think alittle about
that area.
My Best, Ralph
Regards, Gernilee
