I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the GREENFIELD Family of
New
York and Michigan. The first is a photograph of Mrs. Deck GREENFIELD which
was taken at the Dunwick Studio in Pulaski and Mexico, New York. The
photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Mrs.
GREENFIELD appearing to be in her teens or 20's at the time it was taken.
The second photograph is identified as Ettie & Hattie GREENFIELD and was
taken at the Brooks Studio in Detroit, Michigan. This second photograph was
likely taken in the 1880's with the two woman appearing to be in their 20's
or 30's. Based on limited research I have been able to gather the following
information regarding people in the photographs:
Dexter S. GREENFIELD b. 1837 in Orwell, NY married Louisa F. JOHNSON b. 1837
in Steuben, NY. Dexter died 8 Apr 1902 in Orwell, NY.
Hattie GREENFIELD b. MI to parents Frances GREENFIELD and Elizabeth CARTER,
married William ANGELL on 19 Oct 1887 in Detroit, MI. Hattie was captured
in the 1880 census as follows:
1880 census of Detroit, MI:
Fred REMINGTON, age 27, born MI, a Broom Maker, parents born MI
Mary REMINGTON, wife, ag 25, born MI, Keeping House, parents born England
Fred REMINGTON, son, age 1, born MI
Jessie GREENFIELD, sister-in-law, age 22, born MI, a Dressmaker, parents
born England
Hattie GREENFIELD, sister-in-law, age 16, born MI, Works in Laboratory,
parents born England
I am hoping to locate someone from the GREENFIELD Family so that these
wonderful old photographs can be returned to their rightful place with
family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might
be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
