Hoping to identify the parents of John Carter of Porter/Parsonsfield Maine. I
suspect his father may have been a Richard Carter who also lived in
Parsonsfield during the early 1800s. It is possible the family may have come
to Maine from Wakefield, New Hampshire.

He married LYDIA ? 1793.

Notes for STEPHEN W. CARTER:
Stephen farmed and owned a Gist Mill at Kezar Falls, Maine. After marrying
Azuba Willoughby he moved to Lowell,Mass.,then on to Michigan in 1860 and
then later he moved to Kansas. He died in Kansas at the age of 74 years, in
the year 1868.
