I've never seen any statistics for the margin of error, however, I do know
that Family Tree DNA will retest any sample if the results are in question.
From their website:
" In cases of unexpected results, FTDNA will retest at no charge to confirm
that a lab error is not an issue. In case that a retest is done and the
results are confirmed, a $50 charge will be applied."
