Thanks for writing. I will be glad to send you what I have but I have just recently found
that our Daniel Carter's father was John so I don't have any more info than what
was on the Carter DNA site. When I get home from work maybe I can send you a gedcom for
this part of my husband's family.
Let's all keep in touch and share what we have. Maybe we can find more on this family
yet.
Do you have pictures of places in Greene Co. that would have anything to do with the
Carter family? Has anyone ever thought of looking in Virginia or Pennsylvania for the
Carter family? I asked about PA because Jemima Carter's husband Thomas Williams is
said to have been born in PA. I do a lot of snatching at straws sometimes but sometimes
hit the jack pot.
More later,

I would like to see your info. There are three of us who have been working
together on John Carter of Greene Co. Clarence Carter, Janny Carter and
myself. I live about 30 min from where John settled. I don't know if we will
ever figure out who his father was. Thanks Larry Carter

Subject: [CARTER-DNA] Greene County Tennessee Carters
Thanks Vicky for the encouragement to post.
My husband has two sets of Carters that are represented on the Carter DNA
project.
The first one is Group one that includes the Greene Co., Tennessee
Carters the migrated there starting with John Carter that came from Surry
Co., North Carolina. David's (my husband) direct line was Jemima Carter
(daughter of Daniel son of the first John Carter in Greene) that married
Thomas Williams and after most of their children were born moved to
Jefferson Co., Missouri.
I would love to share information with anyone that is related to this
family and
work together to get this all put together.
We can't participate in the DNA testing because we have no living Carter
males
that we know of.
Thanks for any help anyone can share with me.
The other Carters in my husbands family were in Cumberland County,
Kentucky but I
will post that on another email.

Dear Group:
We have two new members and two more trees have been added to the site. We
have
several subscribers who can not participate in the DNA study but are
also looking for connections to their Carter ancestors. Remember, all posts
to this list do not have to relate to just DNA; you are welcome to post
queries.
