Dear Isabel: I am the co-administrator of the FTDNA Lawson project and I've
heard nothing. I would think each person will have to enter their own
results, just because of privacy issues. I'm a little concerned with how
big
ancestry.com is getting. My worry is that they will eventually charge
for even participating on the Lists. I tried to purchase a certain CD and
it is no longer available. The story was that people would rather look on
line than have a CD. So, purchase your CDs now.

Subject: [CARTER-DNA] Partnership between
Ancestry.com and
SorensonGenomics/Relative Genetics
In the next few months, DNA information in the Relative Genetics databases
will merge into
Ancestry.com. I think this could be a good thing as far as
researching those families who were tested by Sorenson Genomics, but most of
the families of interest to me are in the Family Tree DNA databases, and
this includes the Carter line.
I have been told that we will be able to enter the DNA results from FTDNA on
the
Ancestry.com site when the migration is complete. Will we all have to do
that individually, or will the Carter results be entered by the project
administrators? It would be very tedious to type it all in the way that we
put the Relative Genetics results on Y-Search, FTDNA's site, so it would be
great to have a way to export them all.
Does anyone know anything about this?
